Purpose of the Job:

The Storeman oversees the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods and materials within a warehouse or retail environment. They ensure that inventory is accurately tracked, well-organized, and readily available for use. This role involves maintaining stock levels, handling stock orders, ensuring the timely dispatch of items, and maintaining a safe and clean storage area. The Storeman plays a key role in ensuring operational efficiency and supporting other departments by providing quick and accurate access to materials as needed.

Requirements:

1. Grade 12 Certificate.

2. Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience working as a Storeman with proven inventory and stock control experience.

3. Computer literate in MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).

4. Experience working on Sage Pastel Accounting or Sage Evolution will be advantageous.

5. Fluent in English (speak, read, and write).

6. Strong attention to detail with the ability to track, organize, and monitor stock levels accurately.

7. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment.

8. Good physical stamina – the role requires lifting, standing, and moving items throughout the day.

9. Strong problem-solving skills to address stock discrepancies, misplaced items, and other logistical issues.

10. Effective verbal and written communication skills for coordination across departments.

11. Demonstrated initiative and reliability, with the ability to work independently and take proactive ownership of stock management and stock take processes.

12. High level of integrity, accountability, and accuracy when handling large volumes of stock.

13. Knowledge of stock protocols and commitment to preventing losses or discrepancies.

14. Proactive approach to maintaining organised, efficient, and auditable stock processes.

15. Collaborative team player with effective communication and coordination skills across departments.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 06h00 to 15h30.

Required to work overtime when and if needed.
