Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright with electrical expertise to join our underground mining operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in underground mining, be trade-tested, and possess the resilience and toughness required to thrive in challenging environments. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical mining equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. Candidates must be medically fit and able to work in physically demanding conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
•Install, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical mining machinery and equipment.
•Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in underground mining equipment.
•Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
•Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
•Assist with the commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
•Work safely and comply with all underground mining safety protocols.
•Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance of machinery.
•Document maintenance activities and report equipment issues to supervisors.

Key Requirements:
•Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Millwright in underground mining.
•Completed trade test and relevant millwright/electrical qualifications.
•Electrical experience and competency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
•Medically fit and able to work in physically demanding underground mining environments.
•Tough, resilient, and able to work under pressure in challenging conditions.
•Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
•Knowledge of mining safety regulations and compliance requirements.
•Excellent teamwork, initiative, and problem-solving abilities.
