The National Sales Manager will lead the company’s sales strategy, driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer acquisition within the car rental industry. This role requires a dynamic sales leader with a deep understanding of fleet operations, rental pricing, and B2B/B2C customer engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-performing sales teams, fostering strategic partnerships, and ensuring consistent delivery of business objectives across all regions.

Experience in the car rental industry is essential and non-negotiable.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the national sales strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential strategic partnerships.
  • Lead regional sales teams to achieve sales targets and expand market presence.

Operational Sales Management

  • Oversee the performance of all regional and branch sales operations.
  • Ensure consistency in pricing, promotional strategies, and client engagement across all locations.
  • Monitor competitor activity and adjust strategies to maintain competitive advantage.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with key corporate clients, travel partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and manage high-value contracts and service-level agreements.
  • Ensure exceptional customer experience and service delivery throughout the sales process.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate sales teams to achieve individual and collective goals.
  • Implement performance management frameworks and provide ongoing training and support.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.

Financial and Reporting

  • Set and monitor sales budgets, forecasts, and revenue targets.
  • Analyse sales performance metrics and present regular reports to executive leadership.
  • Ensure profitability and sustainable growth through effective cost management.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in sales leadership within the car rental industry (non-negotiable).
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding national sales targets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of fleet management, rental pricing structures, and industry trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on operational management experience.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
