The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout all catering facilities, including production areas, equipment, and storage spaces, in strict compliance with Food Safety Management Programme (FSMP) and aviation catering hygiene standards. This role ensures that all cleaning duties are performed efficiently, safely, and according to company and regulatory requirements to support the production of safe and high-quality in-flight meals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces, equipment, floors, and walls according to the FSMP cleaning schedules and procedures.
- Follow strict hygiene and safety standards as outlined in the company’s Food Safety Management Programme.
- Handle and use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment and tools are properly maintained, sanitized, and stored.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or potential food safety risks immediately to the Hygiene Supervisor.
- Assist in cleaning and sanitizing trolleys, trays, containers, and utensils used in-flight catering.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas such as staff canteens, change rooms, and waste disposal areas.
- Dispose of waste according to FSMP waste management protocols and recycling procedures.
- Participate in regular hygiene inspections, audits, and FSMP training sessions.
- Adhere to all personal hygiene and grooming standards, including wearing the required PPE and uniforms.
- Support production staff and supervisors during deep cleans and end-of-shift sanitation.
