Position requires a detail-oriented, thorough and organised Financial Assistant to join the team.  This position is essential in supporting the Financial Manager, to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and assisting with various administrative tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the finance department.

Duties:

Under the guidance of the Financial Manager, the duties will consist of the following:

Clear understanding of General Ledger Accounts, Balance Sheet and Income statement reconciliations

Assist in the preparation of management accounts, reports, and budgets

Support the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoices processing and payment tracking

Conduct data entry and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies

Assist in the reconciliation of bank statements and financial discrepancies

Help with Payroll processing and maintain employee financial records

Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processe3s and improve reporting accuracy

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes

Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including filing documents, managing correspondence and assisting with routine financial taska.

Stay updated on changes in financial regulations that may affect the organisation, accounting standards, and best practices

Implement financial control measures and company processes that affect the company's regulatory obligations

Attend training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge

Assist with statutory requirements, calculations and submissions.

Understanding financial transactions relating to Stock Control and performing stock control measurements

Qualifications:

Matric with Accounting

Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related (will consider studying towards qualification)

3+ years experience as a Finance Assistant, Accounting Clerk or similar role within a stock environment

Tax knowledge

Knowledge of Imports and Exports will be beneficial

Knowledge of stock control, import/export documentation, customs codes etc preferred

Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail

Proficiency in MS Excel (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL) and other financial software

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey financial information clearly.

A pro-active and adaptable mindset, ready to take on new challenges and responsibilities

Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to problem-solving

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in financial reporting

Understanding of financial laws and regulations to ensure the organisation is in compliance.

Working Hours:  7am - 4pm Mon-Thurs, 7am - 2.30pm Fridays (or flexible 7.30 - 4.30)
