Purpose of the job
- The Nutch plant operator oversees the manufacturing of Company Nutch products, while keeping Health and Safety in the workplace in mind.
- Ensures smooth operation of the Nutch Plant.
Key areas of responsibility
Production
- Ensure the Nutch plant operates at maximum capacity whilst maintaining product quality.
- Following of SOP’s.
- Keep work area clean and safe.
- Report defects and sub-standard equipment.
- Completing of batch sheets accurately
HSE
- To familiarize yourself with the requirements of the Act and applicable Regulations.
- To ensure that you comply with these requirements in the workplace.
- To ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported
- Attend regular toolbox talks and safety training
HR
- To follow shift roster and be on time every time.
- Planning and confirming with the Shift Supervisor your holiday schedule in advance.
- Core values to be applied at all times.
Working-in & building teams
- Attend daily production meeting when on shift.
- Assist in the manufacturing plant as and when needed.
- Complete daily shift change-over sheet
Reporting
- Reporting of daily production to Shift Supervisor.
- Complete daily shift report
Roles And responsibilities
- Taking accountability for Nutch Plant manufacturing.
- Workplace housekeeping
Communication
- Being open and honest at all times.
- Reporting incidents or significant news immediately to the Shift Supervisor and maintenance manager.
- Stock in – Product out
- Daily stock control when on shift.
- Other duties in terms of legal appointments:
- Executing duties assigned to the individual in terms of other legal appointments that the employer may require, which may include but not limited to specific appointments, such as First Aider, Fire fighter, Preparedness co-ordinator, etc.
Knowledge and skills needed
Education:
- Gr12 or equivalent
- Btech Chem Eng
- Read and write English
Related Experience:
- Chemical Mixtures
- Working with hot liquids
- Blending of liquids
- Skills: Good communicator
- Product Knowledge
- Work well under pressure
- Other: Basic knowledge of OHS Act
